Adopt-A-Family is the Boys & Girls Club of Milford’s holiday program designed to assist families who are in crisis as a result of unemployment, homelessness, medical issues or other difficult circumstances, and who otherwise wouldn’t have the resources to celebrate the holidays. This program provides a wonderful holiday experience for families at a critical time in their lives. Families who are adopted are provided with food, clothing, and gifts from their sponsors.
The Boys & Girls Club of Milford has been at the forefront of community support, and we have seen firsthand the impact of collective generosity. WHAT IS THE ADOPT A FAMILY HOLIDAY PROGRAM?
The Adopt a Family Program connects a generous individual, business or group with deserving children and families in need.
HOW DOES THE HOLIDAY PROGRAM WORK?Families sign up for assistance by completing this online application and writing a letter telling their story of need. Adopters go shopping. We ask that at least one item from each child’s wants & needs list be provided. There is no dollar limit to what can be spent on gifts for the children or family. All gifts are chosen by the Adopter. Gifts must be labeled for the child, may be wrapped or unwrapped and are dropped off by the Adopters between Dec 1 and 14. Families are notified they must pick up their gifts on or before December 18. Family Thank You cards are mailed to the Adopter/Donor, by our office.
